Summer is in full force here in the Pacific NW. We've had
some strong heat which caught most of us by surprise in the month of June. With
extra hydration, some frozen treats and a lot of sunscreen, we all made it
through. Let's look at what's happening in the month of July...
It's bulb
digging time! All the blooms that color the valley throughout the spring have
long ago been topped and their bulbs have finished growing. It is time for them
to be dug up and processed so they can make their way to new homes where they
can brighten your garden come spring 2022. If you haven't placed your bulb
order yet, there is still time. Get your order in by July 31st and
receive a little something
extra with your order. If you're curious about what happens to the bulbs
after they come out of the ground and how to care for yours at home, you can
read more about it here.

The color and charm of our garden here at RoozenGaarde continues to grow. It is not quite
in its summer prime, but still makes a nice outing for those locals who'd like
to visit. Geraniums and lilies
are scattered nicely throughout the beds creating sprinklings of color, and
zinnia will soon follow. The Dahlias continue to get taller as their blooms
begin to pop. Though we have come to know and love this flower because of its flowing
pattern, size, and unique color pallets, it was originally classified as a
vegetable. This is due to the edible tuber that the dahlia blooms from. It is
said the taste is somewhere between a potato and a radish - something we cannot
confirm, but we'll let you know if we ever get brave enough to try! RoozenGaarde
is open seven days a week Monday-Saturday 10am-6pm and Sunday* 11am-4pm.
2020 was a challenging year for many and this includes those
planning weddings or other events that likely involve celebration with family
and friends. If you are one of the "lucky" few that were given an extra year to
plan your event and are looking for some party favors, we have the perfect idea
for you. Bulbs!
Because we grow and produce our own bulbs, we have them readily available as
soon as their processing is finished. If tulips have a special meaning to you
and you would like your guests to leave with a little piece of something you
love, check out our Bulbs
for Brides. It's a party favor that keeps on giving from the day it's taken
home until its bloom in the spring.

Don't forget there is never a bad time to send and receive flowers. If you're
looking to give some blooms to spread some love and a smile, we always have a
fresh selection available at RoozenGaarde. For those nonlocals, give us a call
or visit tulips.com
to ship fresh blooms anywhere in the United States. Surprise someone with tulips or amaze them with our
lilies. Whatever you
choose, you can't go wrong.
Wishing you a safe, happy, and comfortably warm July!
*We will be closed on the 4th & 5th of July, Happy Independence Day!
